Half marathon

The road we must run through
Might be long,
With uphill and downhill,
Straight ways and turns.
We run alone,
Sometimes with friends along,
It could be tough,
Tiring
And boring.
We groan upon pain and exhaustion,
We cheer upon seeing fellow runners.

The thing
That may keep you running
Heading to the finish ribbon,
Is enjoying the view along the road.

A birthday poem for my baby sister

You are the littlest

But never the least

The baby sister

But not babyish at all.

The course of life has taught you well

To stand still in the midst of the storm,

And to peacefully dwell

In the midst of your beloved swarm,

Here in the house of your beloved,

There is abundance of love,

And you never run out of it,

For that’s all that we can give.
